Throttle Body

Before you can replace the Throttle Body assembly it requires you to take off the air cleaner outlet duct. Pull off the engine wiring harness electrical connector from the electronic throttle control and take off the Throttle Body bolts. Remove also the Throttle Body and the law gasket, throw away the old gasket. For installation, a new Throttle Body Gasket and Throttle Body should be placed on the upper Intake Manifold, making sure to follow the fastener. Mount the Throttle Body bolts and tighten to the tune of 10 n.m (89 lb in). Reconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector to the electronic throttle control and install the air cleaner outlet duct. Lastly, execute throttle learn operation.

To replace the Throttle Body assembly, first of all, remove the air cleaner outlet duct. Disconnect the engine wiring harness elect faces the electronic throttle control. Use GM top engine cleaner (code 1052626 or 993026) or AC-Delco Carburetor Tune-Up Conditioner (X66-P) along with a clean shop towel to thoroughly clean the throttle body bore and throttle valve plate. Put the air cleaner outlet duct back in place as the last step.

Reconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector to the electronic throttle control and replace the air cleaner outlet duct. Finally, undertake throttle learn procedure.

Take the throttle body off the intake manifold and block the intake manifold opening with a clean shop towel to prevent dirt from entering.

Reconnect the TAC module electrical connector and press down the connector lock to secure it, then reinstall the heater outlet pipe and the air cleaner intake duct.
