    Q:
How to replace the Dipstick Tube on Chevrolet Silverado 1500? Posted by Customer
    A:
To replace the oil level indicator and tube, first get rid of the oil level indicator and right Exhaust Manifold for respective engine sizes (4.3L, 4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L, 6.2L, and 6.6L). Then, remove the bolt of the oil level indicator tube, and twist the oil level indicator tube carefully in order to take it out. Remove any old sealer from the indicator tube and the engine block. When installing, use sealant around the indicator tube 13 mm (0.5 in) from the tube bead, utilizing the proper part numbers for sealers, adhesives and lubricants. Position the oil level indicator tube and secure it with the indicator tube bolt and tighten it to 12 n.m (106 lb in). Lastly, put back the correct Exhaust Manifold and the oil level indicator.
