    Q:
How to Service and Repair Canister Purge Valves on Chevrolet Metro? Posted by Customer
    A:
Circuits for the Canister Purge Valves need to be serviced through the removal of the air cleaner unit. Separate the two vacuum lines that connect to the evaporative emission (EVAP) Canister Purge Valves along with the electrical connector. After you remove the two bolts securing the evap canister surge tank bracket move the surge tank and bracket out of the way from the purge valve position. First remove the one nut securing the purge valve bracket before you can take out the evap Canister Purge Valves. The evap Canister Purge Valves need to be installed onto the surge tank bracket before using the nut to close it at 1.6 n.m (14 lb in). Screw the valves and bracket to the intake manifold bracket through two bolts while setting the torque at 11 n.m (8 lb ft). You should reconnect both vacuum hoses and the electrical connector to the evap Canister Purge Valves after which you need to replace the air cleaner.
