The upper and lower molded details must first be attached to the front of the rear side access door through the integral retaining pin before applying the lower molded detail to its position with a second integral retaining pin. Close the front and rear side access doors after installing the weather strip onto the rear door frame through its integral retainers.

The maintenance procedure starts with opening both the front and rear side access doors. Use J 38778 tool to detach the upper molded detail from front side access door weather strip mold by relying on the three integral retaining pins that secure the mold to the door. The tool J 38778 Door Trim Pad Clip Remover assists in removing both integral retaining pins from the front lower molded part of the side access door. The J 38778 serves to unfasten the integral pins from the door while sliding under the weather strip. After using the J 38778 the weather strip on the side access door needs to be removed. The rear side access door mold requires the new weather strip positioned first and the upper molded detail can go next by using integral retaining pins along the front face. The next step entails fitting the lower molded detail to the front of the rear side access door by using its integral retaining pins. The rear door frame receives installation of weather strip by using its integral retainers and then closing the front and rear side access doors.

Start by opening both the front side access door along with the rear side access door. Use the Door Trim Pad Clip Remover (J 38778) to free integral pins along the weather strip by inserting it under the weather strip which will release the pins from the door. Set the newly obtained weather strip onto the backside access door after removing it from the side access door. Install the upper molded detail first onto the front of the rear side access door after inserting the one retaining pin and then install the lower molded detail by inserting the remaining one retaining pin. You should use the integral retainer system to guide the weather strip installation on the rear door frame before you close both the front and rear side access doors.

Firmly seat the weatherstrip into the front door window channel.

Close the rear door.

Open the front and side access doors.

Insert the tool under the weatherstrip and release the integral retainers from the door frame.

Press it into place on the rear door pinchweld flange until it is fully seated.

Squeeze it together and pull it out.

First, lower the rear door window.

Take out the front door opening weatherstrip from the door opening pinchweld flange and remove it from the vehicle.

Position the new rear door outer belt sealing strip to the rear door pinchweld flange and press it down into place until it is fully seated.

Open the front and side access doors.

Press the new auxiliary weatherstrip onto the roof pinchweld flange until it is fully seated.

Close the front door.

Firmly seat the weatherstrip into the front door window channel.
