Belt Weatherstrip, Rear Upper

The first step in replacing the rear door Weather Strip involves removing the carpet retainer. Start by pulling the Weather Strip from its position at the upper rear part of the door opening outboard of the flange as you move clockwise around the door perimeter for complete removal. To install the Weather Strip position it into the upper corner of the center pillar while ensuring that the rubber side faces outboard of the automobile. Apply the Weather Strip on the door opening flange front edge by pushing it downwards until the carrier settles into both corners. Start by placing the Weather Strip in the center pillar corner then install it towards the back part of the door opening and roof rail. Drive in each part of the Weather Strip firmly onto the entire door opening flange by using a rubber mallet. You can install the close-out lip by putting a plastic trim stick or similar tool over the interior trim on door openings or by using the attached pull-string on new weather strips for positioning the lip into place. Finally, reinstall the carpet retainer.

Engage the center portion of the weatherstrip to the pinch-weld flange while bending it at the pillar.

Use a plastic trim stick or an equivalent tool to position the close-out lip over the interior trim around the door opening, or utilize the ripcord on new weatherstrip under the close-out lip to reposition it.

First, open the rear compartment and pull the weatherstrip from the rear compartment lid pinch-weld flange, then remove it from the vehicle.
