Door Weatherstrip

The first step to replace front door weather strip involves removing the sill plate from its position. The installation starts by detaching the weather strip from its position on the door opening flange at the rear upper corner and continuing this detachment method around the door opening until total removal. The paint dots should be placed in the upper corner of the center pillar which will indicate the right-hand side (RH) weather strip start point with one dot while two dots correspond to the left-hand side (LH) weather strip starting position. Place the rubber weather strip exterior to the vehicle position. You should implement the weather strip installation by starting with the rear edge while placing it onto the door opening flange and checking that the carrier fits correctly into all corners. You should begin center-pillar installation progressing forward by putting the weather strip along the roof rail and window-pillar flange but always confirm the carrier stays fully seated within the corners. Apply your palm or modify the application using a rubber mallet to check that the weather strip fully touches the door opening flange. To set the close-out lip in position use either a plastic trim stick or equivalent tool to position it across interior trim surrounding the door opening. Alternatively, new weather strip may use its built-in ripcord to reposition the close-out lip. Finally, reinstall the sill plate.

Install the weatherstrip and the stationary window into the door, seating the stationary window into the door frame and inserting the window weatherstrip into the door frame.

Begin by removing the door trim panel, door module, water deflector, energy absorber pad, window inner belt seal, window outer belt seal, door window, and rear door stationary window.

Take out the fasteners from the front window channel and carefully pull the window weatherstrip and channel from the door.
