    Q:
How to replace the rear compartment opening Weather Strip on Chevrolet SSR? Posted by Customer
    A:
Before installing the new weather strip you need to open the rear compartment lid and drop the endgate down. Follow the Compartment Lid Replacement - Rear steps to take off the rear compartment lid. You can disconnect the rear compartment weather strip from your car by pulling it up. Afterwards use Varnish Makers and Painters (VMP) naptha to eliminate any adhesive residue on painted surfaces. You need to heat the weather strip at between 27-38°C (80-100°F) for 5 minutes prior to putting it in place. Insert the rear compartment opening weather strip onto its flange and secure it at the endgate side. This installation prevents water leaks when completed properly. Follow the standard steps in the Compartment Lid Replacement - Rear process to put back the rear compartment lid. Then shut both the rear compartment lid and the endgate.
