Use the J 25070 Heat Gun (J 25070) at a distance of 152 mm (6 in) from the endgate side mucket's surface to heat it for 30 seconds while making circular motions but avoid creating any paint scratches or chips. After opening the rear compartment lid and lowering the endgate use the J 36796 Clip Zip Clip Removal Tool (J 36796) to slowly pull retainers free before removing the endgate side mucket from the vehicle. The endgate panel should be cleaned with Varnish Makers and Painters (VMP) naphtha. Before application check that the painted body surface is dry and clean in the tape contact area then heat the body panel with a lamp or gun to maintain 18.8-41.1°C (66-100°F). Maintain the heat source away from the adhesive surface. Adhere the endgate mucket to the endgate panel by removing tape liner from adhesive tape then press until the mucket maintains proper position. Follow up endgate mucket hand-rolls to lock down proper adhesion before you shut both the rear compartment lid and endgate.
