• Q: How to replace the lower intake manifold on 2000 Buick LeSabre?

  A: To replace the lower Intake Manifold first disconnect the negative Battery Cable and take off the upper Intake Manifold. Drain the cooling system and disconnect the upper Radiator Hose. Next, take off the generator and the drive belt tensioner as well as the egr valve outlet pipe. Then take out the lower Intake Manifold bolts then remove the lower Intake Manifold. For installation, clean cylinder block, heads and Intake Manifold sealing surface from all oil using an appropriate solvent and clean Intake Manifold bolts and bolt hole from adhesive compound. Put thread locking compound gm p/n 12345739 or for the equivalent on Intake Manifold bolt threads prior to assembly. Mount the lower Intake Manifold with the help of sequence while tightening it with bolts using 15nm force (11 ft.lbs). Connect the negative Battery Cable back, and then return the egr valve outlet pipe, drive belt tensioner, and generator. Install the upper Radiator Hose, fill in the cooling system and finally attach the upper Intake Manifold before reconnecting the negative Battery Cable.
