  A: To replace the lower inlet manifold (L36), begin by removing the upper inlet manifold, Thermostat Housing, and exposing the electricity in the ect. Next, take off the drive belt tensioner, and the egr valve outlet pipe, followed by the taking off the lower Intake Manifold bolts and taking off the lower Intake Manifold. Check the lower Intake Manifold before installing the assembly. Clean and check it according to the instruction. Clean the cylinder block, heads, and the Intake Manifold sealing surface of all oil with an appropriate solvent, and place gm approved sealer at the ends of the Intake Manifold seals. Make sure to clear any adhesive compound from the Intake Manifold bolts and bolt openings, and apply thread locking compound gm p/n 12345739 or equal to the Intake Manifold bolt threads prior to assembly. Install the lower Intake Manifold gasket and the lower Intake Manifold and apply threadlocker 272 gm p/n 12345493 to the bolt threads. Replace the lower Intake Manifold bolts and tighten them in the sequence (1-10) to 15nm (11 ft. Lbs). Replace the egr valve outlet pipe, egr valve, and reconnect ect power socket from the ecu. Lastly, install the Thermostat Housing and the upper Intake Manifold.
