2000 Buick Regal Air Bag Sensor Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Air Bag Sensor for Side Impact on 2000 Buick Regal?
A: You should disable the SIR system before you replace the Inflatable Restraint Side Impact Sensor. Take out the front seat carpet retainer as well as the center pillar lower trim. Unscrew both of the inflatable restraint side impact sensor fasteners and take the sensor off the center pillar. Pull up the Connector Position Assurance (CPA), then take out the yellow 2-way harness connector from the inflatable restraint side impact sensor. Once it is time to install, fasten the fasteners onto the sensor and attach the yellow 2-way connector. Put the CPA onto the yellow 2-way connector, then fasten the inflatable restraint side impact sensor to the center pillar. Be sure to use your hand tools to tighten the fasteners until they receive 10 N.m (89 lb in) of force. Then, put the center pillar lower trim and the front seat carpet retainer back in place and activate the SIR system.
