How to service the EGR valve on 2000 Buick Regal?

The first step for servicing the EGR valve requires turning OFF the ignition while removing the electrical connector from the valve. After removing the EGR valve retaining nuts it becomes possible to extract the EGR valve. Next remove the gasket which fits between the EGR valve adapter by itself. New gaskets should be placed on EGR adapter before securing the EGR valve with retaining nuts which need to be tightened to 30 N.m (22 lb ft). Reattach the EGR valve electrical connector as the last installation step.
