2000 Buick Regal Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to remove and install the Turn Signal Switch on 2000 Buick Regal?
A: Begin the multifunction turn signal lever removal procedure by placing the lever at the off position center and disconnecting the negative Battery Cable and disabling the sir system. The first step requires removal of the inflatable restraint Steering Wheel module followed by unstalling of the Steering Wheel while performing the same procedure for the steering column trim covers. Use heat shrinks to detach the steering column wire harness from its retainer then unfasten the two wire harness straps from the wire harness. Disconnect the steering column bulkhead connector from both the vehicle wire harness and the gray and black connectors from the multifunction turn signal lever steering column bulkhead connector. Start by removing bolts from the multifunction turn signal lever and move the lever out of the steering column. Installation of the multifunction turn signal lever requires using a small flat-blade to compress electrical contacts placing them on the canceling cam prior to positioning the lever in its original spot. Secure the multifunction turn signal lever with bolts and tighten each one to 6 nm (53 inch lbs.). Set the gray and black connectors into position with the multifunction turn signal lever steering column bulkhead connector before finalizing the connection between this bulkhead connector and the vehicle wire harness. Return the steering column wire harness into its retaining piece then fasten the straps from the wire harness onto it. After installing the steering column trim cover check that the lever points to center position or off and reinstall the Steering Wheel with the inflatable restraint Steering Wheel module. Reconnect the negative Battery Cable after enabling the sir system.
