Drain the positive Battery Cable from the fuse block mounted under the hood after extracting the Battery Cable retainers from the rocker panel area. The grommet must be unseated from the cowl panel before you extract the Battery Cable through the panel opening until it emerges from the vehicle. To mount the Battery Cable proceed by inserting it through the opening of the cowl panel then establish the cable grommet by advancing the cable into the engine bay. The positive terminal of the cable must be connected to the underhood fuse block with the nut tightened to 12 n.m (106 lb in). The Battery Cable should run along the rocker panel while cable retainers get installed before placing back the interior moldings. Fasten the positive Battery Cable to the rear fuse block making sure the nut reaches 15 n.m torque setting (11 lb ft). You should first attach the positive Battery Cable to the battery while tightening the bolt to 17 n.m (13 lb ft). After that, insert the negative Battery Cable into the battery. Install the rear seat cushion as the last step.
