The first step requires disconnecting the battery negative cable along with detaching the body harness from this cable before fully removing the cable from the Floor Pan. Whenever you replace the battery negative cable always position the cable eyelet with its flat side resting at the bottom while facing in an upward direction. Fasten the body end of the battery negative cable to the Floor Pan by tightening the bolt to 36 n.m (27 lb ft). After you connect the battery negative cable, you must establish the connection between the body harness connector and the body harness before reconnecting the battery negative cable.
