- Q: How to service the Delphi AD237 (KG7) alternator on 2001 Cadillac DeVille?A: Begin generator service of delphi ad237 (KG7) by removing the battery negative cable followed by Drive Belt removal and Radiator removal. Separate the generator harness connection then swing the protective boot out of the way to expose the generator's bat terminal. First remove the generator output bat terminal nut to disconnect the positive lead of the generator. First loosen the lower generator bolt then remove generator bolts (1, 2) before extracting the generator from the vehicle. The generator installation requires positioning it between the A/C Compressor and engine before tightening generator mounting bolts to 50 n.m (37 lb ft). First install the wiring harness connector to the generator while adding the battery positive lead and securing the generator output bat terminal nut with 12.5 n.m (111 lb in) torque. Complete the installation by pressing on the protective boot to the generator output bat terminal followed by Radiator reinstallation and Drive Belt installation and battery negative cable restoration.
