  A: Service and repair operations for flex plates should start with removing the transaxle assembly and avoiding the reuse of Flywheel bolts. Climbing first to the eight mounting bolts and using this to let go of the Flywheel and reinforcement step. Thorough examination should be applied to both the engine Flywheel and the reinforcement before installation. When installing the Flywheel with reinforcement onto the Crankshaft the replacement bolts must receive gm p/n 12346004 or an equivalent sealant before installation. When installing the eight new mounting bolts workers should first torque them to 15 nm (11 ft. Lbs.) before completing the installation with an additional 50-degree torque using a torque/angle meter (J36660-A). Finally, reinstall the transaxle assembly.
