    Q:
How to service and repair the Flywheel on Cadillac Eldorado? Posted by Customer
    A:
The service or repair operations for the flex plate start with removing the transaxle assembly. Technical workers should avoid using the Flywheel bolts more than once. Start by removing the eight mounting bolts which will allow access to remove the Flywheel together with the reinforcement. The task requires inspection and cleaning of the engine Flywheel. Position the Flywheel together with the reinforcement onto the Crankshaft for installation. The Flywheel mounting bolts need gm p/n 12346004 or an equivalent sealant applied to them. Apply gm p/n 12346004 sealant to the Flywheel mounting bolts before screwing in the eight bolts and applying 15 nm torque (11 ft. Lbs) during the first installation stage. The torque/angle meter (J 36660-A) should be used during the final bolt-tightening stage to achieve an additional 50 degrees of torques for the fluewheel mounting bolts. Finally, install the transaxle assembly.

    Q:
How to service and repair the Flywheel on Cadillac DeVille? Posted by Customer
    A:
A proper repair or service process for the flex plate starts with taking out the transaxle assembly but always discard the existing Flywheel bolts. Proceed to take out the 8 mounting bolts and afterward remove the Flywheel together with the reinforcement. After cleaning the engine Flywheel you should inspect it before placing both elements onto the Crankshaft. Sealant gm p/n 12346004 (Canadian P/N 10953480) or equivalent should be applied to all new Flywheel mounting bolts. Use 8 new mounting bolts and tighten them to 15 nm (11 ft. Lbs.) during the first tightening sequence. The j 36660-a torque/angle meter should be used to tighten bolts a further 50° during the last tightening sequence. Finally, reinstall the transaxle assembly.

    Q:
How to service and repair the flex plate and replace the engine flywheel on Cadillac Seville? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step of flex plate service requires obtaining a torque/angle meter which is identified by j 36660-a. Start by removing the transaxle assembly then discard the use of Flywheel bolts. First remove all eight mounting bolts before proceeding to take away the Flywheel and the reinforcement. Check the engine Flywheel for cleanliness and inspect it before placing it on the Crankshaft together with the reinforcement. The new Flywheel mounting bolts require application of gm p/n 12346004 sealant or its equivalent. The installation requires eight new mounting bolts which need to be tightened to 15 nm (11 ft. Lbs.) during the first tightening procedure. The torque/angle meter (J 36660-A) should be used during the final bolt tightening procedure by adding 50 degrees of torque. Finally, reinstall the transaxle assembly.
