2001 Cadillac Eldorado Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the engine flywheel on 2001 Cadillac Eldorado?
A: The service and repair process for the engine Flywheel begins with taking out the transaxle assembly and excluding duplicate use of the Flywheel bolts. The service begins by detaching first the eight mounting bolts then removing the Flywheel together with the reinforcement. Assess the state of the engine Flywheel prior to combining it with the reinforcement during Crankshaft installation. Attach gm p/n 12346004 sealant or its equivalent product to the new Flywheel mounting bolts. Propagate the eight new mounting bolts by hand-tightening them until they reach 15 nm (11 ft. Lbs.) and afterward using the torque/angle meter (J 36660-A) to conduct a final bolt tightening torquing procedure that produces a 50-degree bolt angle. Finally, reinstall the transaxle assembly.
