• Q: How to replace the throttle body assembly on 2000 Cadillac DeVille?

  A: If you want to replace the Throttle Body assembly, relieve the fuel system pressure first. Loose the at sensor electrical connector from the iat sensor, maf sensor electrical connector, and air cleaner intake duct. Remove the pcv valve fresh air tube, cruise control cable from the accelerator controls cable bracket and accelerator cable from the same bracket. Next, unbolt the cruise control cable and accelerator control cable at the Throttle Body lever, and the iac valve electrical connector, and the tp sensor electrical connector. Remove the fuel feed and return lines from the retainer on the accelerator controls cable bracket and the transaxle shift cable clip, then detach Throttle Body from the water crossover. Then, after its removal from the Throttle Body remove the accelerator controls cable bracket. During installation, one should not employ the use of cleaners containing methylethylketone; rather, carburetor cleaner for deposits. Make sure the outlet of the air cleaner assembly and the inlet of the maf sensor duct are well aligned to prevent airflow problems. Replace the Throttle Body Gasket with a new one, and later on, fit the accelerator cable bracket to the Throttle Body and use a 12nm (106lb/in) torque screwdriver to tighten bolts. Mount the Throttle Body on the Throttle Body spacer, finger tighten the lower bolts and tighten the four bolts attaching to the Throttle Body with 12n.m (106 lb in). Reconnect the iac valve and tp sensor electric connector, then the accelerator control cable (and cruise control cable) to the Throttle Body lever. Reattach the accelerator cable and cruise control cable to the accelerator controls cable bracket, and install the transaxle shift cable clip and the fuel feed and return lines. Reacquire the maf sensor electrical connector, then reacquire the iat sensor electrical connector. Secure the air cleaner intake duct clamp to the air cleaner intake air duct and tighten to 4 n.m (35 lb in) then installing the pcv valve fresh air tube and the intake manifold sight shield with its nuts tightened to 3 n.m (27 lb in). Lastly (reconnect the negative Battery Cable), re-install the rear seat cushion, and remember the tp sensor learn procedure while you turn the ignition switch in run/on position for 1 minute and lock/off for 15 seconds. For the iac valve learn procedure, cycle the ignition switch on and off for 15 seconds, and then cycle the ignition on again.
