  A: When servicing the Throttle Body start by disconnecting the maf sensor electrical connector but exercise caution because damaging the maf sensor screen can cause airflow restrictions along with driveability problems. Service the Throttle Body by first loosening intake air duct clamps and then removing the maf sensor combined with air cleaner intake duct. Start by examining the bore of the Throttle Body alongside the throttle valve plate for deposits before opening the throttle to inspect all components. Solvents with methyl ethyl ketone (MEK) should not be used because they could harm fuel system components. Use gm top engine cleaner p/n 1052626 or ac-delco carburetor tune-up conditioner p/n x66-p or a comparable product to clean the Throttle Body bore and throttle valve plate with a clean shop towel. Installation should include precise alignment of the air cleaner assembly outlet with the maf sensor inlet duct to stop erroneous airflow measurements that activate the mil and cause driveability problems. The maf sensor together with air cleaner intake duct must be assembled before tightening the intake air duct clamps to 3 n.m (27 lb in). This step is followed by reattaching the maf sensor electrical connector.
