How to Service and Repair the Automatic Transmission Filter on 2000 Chevrolet Astro?

To do service on the fluid filter in the automatic transmission, elevate the vehicle and place a drain pan below the oil pan. Take out the oil pan and gasket, the fluid filter and seal. Apply the lubricant to the new seal, place the new filter and reglue the oil pan. Lastly, fill the transmission with dexron(r) iii fluid.
