To service the thermostat, make sure that the engine is cold, and empty the coolant beneath the thermostat. Disassemble air cleaner assembly, remove ground lead, and remove coolant outlet and thermostat. Wipe down everything, replace the thermostat, coolant outlet, ground lead and coolant. Leak checks are to be made after turning on the engine.
