    Q:
How to replace a thermostat on Chevrolet Astro? Posted by Customer
    A:
The Thermostat installation requires waiting for engine temperature to drop before proceeding with coolant draining until the Thermostat level is reached. Begin the replacement process by removing the air cleaner assembly and disconnecting the ground lead from the coolant outlet and taking out all bolts including the bolt/stud before you can safely remove the coolant outlet. Clean all sealing surfaces and parts before moving on to the next step. Thermostat installation begins with repositioning the cooling outlet component followed by the Thermostat. Reinstall the bolt alongside the bolt/stud before tightening both pieces to 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.) and reconnected the ground lead to the bolt/stud. You should replace the air cleaner assembly afterwards and add coolant before starting the engine. Monitor for any leakage when the engine reaches its normal operating temperature.

    Q:
How to replace the thermostat in a 4.3L engine on Chevrolet Blazer? Posted by Customer
    A:
The replacement process for the 4.3l engine Thermostat begins when you drain part of the cooling system. Start by removing the outlet duct from the air cleaner before unscrewing all throttle body bracket nuts to relocate the bracket. The procedure starts by discarding the lower Intake Manifold water outlet housing mounting bolts before separating this housing from the manifold to set it safely aside. First clean both sealing surfaces of the water outlet housing and lower Intake Manifold before you put the new gasket or o-ring and Thermostat into place. All installation parts require complete cleaning to avoid leakage between sealing surfaces. Attach the Thermostat with either a new gasket or o-ring before connecting the water outlet housing to the lower Intake Manifold using the directions in fastener notice in service precautions. Fasten water outlet housing mounting bolts to 19 nm (14 ft. Lbs.) before reattaching the throttle body bracket which requires bracket nuts to be tightened to 10 nm (89 inch lbs.). Before you finish you must fill the cooling system while inspecting it for leakages.

    Q:
How to service and repair the thermostat on GMC Savana 1500? Posted by Customer
    A:
First you need to uninstall the air cleaner and duct assembly before parially draining coolant from the system and removing the coolant recovery reservoir. Starting with the Radiator Hose separation from the Thermostat Housing proceed to remove Thermostat Housing bolts followed by removing both components. First clean the mounting areas for the gaskets before you add a new Thermostat. Fasten the Thermostat Housing to the Intake Manifold before tightening its bolts to 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.). Reinstall the coolant recovery reservoir and therapist housing Radiator Hose before you return the air cleaner and duct. To complete the procedure you should fill the cooling system then extract air from it before examining the Thermostat Housing and its gasket for coolant leakage.

How to service the thermostat on GMC Safari? Posted by Customer
    A:
To service the Thermostat, you should make sure the engine is cool not to lick to avoid burns, then drain the coolant unpulsion to a level below the Thermostat. Drop the air cleaner assembly, unplug the ground lead from the outlet of the coolant, remove the bolt/stud and the bolt on the outlet of the coolant to remove the coolant outlet and the Thermostat. Clean all its parts and sealing surfaces properly. For installation, put the Thermostat back in place followed by the coolant outlet. Mount the bolt and bolt/stud and torque to 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.) and reconnect the ground lead to the bolt/stud. Replace the air cleaner assembly and fill in the coolant. Finally, run the engine and monitor for leaks once it has heated up to normal operating temperature.

    Q:
How to replace the thermostat in a 4.3 L engine on GMC Jimmy? Posted by Customer
    A:
A 4.3 l engine Thermostat replacement begins with draining part of the cooling system. Begin by removing the air cleaner outlet duct before you unscrew throttle body bracket nuts to shift the bracket into position. Detach the water outlet housing from the lower Intake Manifold while removing its mounting bolts. Place the water outlet housing aside for now. Bring out the Thermostat along with gasket or o-ring before you clean all joining surfaces between the water outlet housing and lower Intake Manifold. Inspect all components and sealing areas before putting them together in order to block leaks between parts. Put the Thermostat and a new gasket or o-ring into position before installing the water outlet housing onto the lower Intake Manifold while following the fastener notice in service precautions. Mount the water outlet housing bolts securely at 19 nm torque setting (14 ft. Lbs.) before reattaching the throttle body bracket using nuts tightened to 10 nm (89 inch lbs.). Complete the cooling system fluid operation and conduct a check for all leakages.
