Clean the Thermostat housing and the sealing surface of the cooling outlet. For 5.7l install the Thermostat into the housing, the gasket if required, and the coolant outlet, then install the bolts or studs and tighten it to 28 nm (21 ft. Lbs.). For the 7.4l, place the Thermostat into the housing along with any gasket and the coolant outlet, then place the bolts or studs and tighten them to 37 nm (27 ft. Lbs.) nsdictionary. Refill the coolant to the cooling system again and run the engine untill the Radiator upper hose gets hot indicating that the thermostate is open.
