    Q:
How to replace the thermostat on Chevrolet S10? Posted by Customer
    A:
A partial drainage of the cooling system should precede Thermostat replacement. The air cleaner outlet duct must be removed initially before performing the throttle body bracket nut removal process to modify its position. First detach the water outlet housing mounting bolts on the lower Intake Manifold before removing the water outlet housing which you will set aside. First remove the gasket or o-ring and the Thermostat before cleaning all sealing surfaces between the water outlet housing and lower Intake Manifold. Start your installation by putting the Thermostat together with a new gasket or o-ring before connecting the water outlet housing to the lower Intake Manifold and following the fastener notice in service precautions. Torque the water outlet housing mounting bolts to 19 nm (14 ft. Lbs.) before putting back the throttle body bracket with its nuts tightened to 10 nm (89 inch lbs.). Complete your cooling system filling process and then check for coolant leaks.

    Q:
How to Ensure Proper Thermostat Installation on Chevrolet S10? Posted by Customer
    A:
Start the Thermostat replacement process by draining part of the cooling system liquid. First detach the air cleaner outlet duct then unscrew and relocate the throttle body bracket nuts. The removal process begins by dislodging both water outlet housing mounting bolts to separate the housing from the lower Intake Manifold. Set it aside when finished. Wash each sealing surface by removing the Thermostat and o-ring or gasket from the water outlet housing and lower Intake Manifold. Follow the fastener notice in service precautions while mounting the water outlet housing back to the lower Intake Manifold after installing the Thermostat with either a fresh gasket or o-ring. Tighten the water outlet housing mounting bolts to a torque of 19 nm (14 ft. Lbs.). After you reinstall the throttle body bracket its nuts need to be tightened to 10 nm (89 inch lbs.). Empty and replace the cooling system before conducting a leak inspection.
