    Q:
How to service and repair the thermostat on Chevrolet Express 3500? Posted by Customer
    A:
To service and repair the Thermostat, proceed to remove the air cleaner and the ducts assembly. Drain the coolant partially and then take off the coolant recovery reservoir. Remove the bolts that hold the Thermostat Housing to the Thermostat and unclip the Radiator Hose from the case of the Thermostat Housing so that you may then unveil the Thermostat Housing and the Thermostat itself. Before replacing the Thermostat with a new one, clean the gasket mating surfaces. Next, screw the Thermostat Housing to the Intake Manifold with bolts and tighten them to 25nm (180 inches-1/2 lb.). Reattaching the Radiator Hose onto the Thermostat Housing, replacing the coolant recovery reservoir, and reinstalling the air cleaner and duct assembly. Refill the cooling system and bleed air from it, check the Thermostat Housing and gasket for leaks of coolant.

How to service and repair the thermostat on Chevrolet K3500? Posted by Customer
    A:
To carry out service and repair the Thermostat, follow the removal of coolant when the Radiator coolant level is beneath the thermostats. On the 5.7l engine, remove the bolts or studs, coolant outlet, Thermostat from the housing, and gasket if necessary. For the 7.4l, in the same way, demolish the bolts or studs and the coolant outlet, Thermostat from the casing, and if required gasket. Clean the Thermostat housing and the sealing surface of the cooling outlet. For 5.7l install the Thermostat into the housing, the gasket if required, and the coolant outlet, then install the bolts or studs and tighten it to 28 nm (21 ft. Lbs.). For the 7.4l, place the Thermostat into the housing along with any gasket and the coolant outlet, then place the bolts or studs and tighten them to 37 nm (27 ft. Lbs.) nsdictionary. Refill the coolant to the cooling system again and run the engine untill the Radiator upper hose gets hot indicating that the thermostate is open. With the engine idling, fill up the Radiator to the bottom of the filler neck and install the Radiator Cap with the arrows pointing to the overflow tube. Lastly, check for leaks in the cooling system.

How to replace the thermostat on GMC Savana 3500? Posted by Customer
    A:
First remove the air cleaner along with the duct assembly followed by draining partial coolant volume before removing the coolant recovery reservoir. Start by disconnecting the Radiator Hose from the Thermostat Housing then remove the bolts that connect the Thermostat Housing to the Thermostat before taking out the Thermostat Housing.
