• Q: How to remove and install the Center Console on 2000 Chevrolet Camaro?

  A: To disconnect the console, one should remove the shift lever knob first and then open the console armrest door and disconnect the coin holder from the internal parts of the console. Unsnap the switch plate from floor console and disconnect the electrical connectors from switches, if present. Then take off the console trim plate bolts and take the trim plate up then disconnect the ashtray lamp connector and the cigarette lighter electrical connector before taking the console trim plate off. For installation, place the trim plate over the shift lever, connect the cig lighter electr conn and the ashtray lam conn and insert the fwd end of the trim plate into the console. Press to snap the trim plate into place, make sure the console trim plate bolts and tighten them to 2 n.m (18 lb in). Refit the electrical connectors to the switches if equipped, snap in the front floor console accessory trim plate, position the coin holder inside the console, close the console armrest door, snap on the console accessory bin to the console if equipped, and lastly install the shift lever knob.
