The console trim plate removal process starts with a setup of run key position while leaving the shift lever in neutral position. First remove the shift control knob then open the console armrest door to free the coin holder inside the console. Drop the switch plate away from the floor console then disconnect the electrical connectors from both switches (1,3) if present. Before taking out the console trim plate you need to remove all bolts securing it while also disconnecting the prndl lamp connector and the cigarette lighter electrical connector. Hook the console trim plate above the shift lever before plugging in the cigarette lighter electrical connector and prndl lamp connector and inserting the plate's forward end into the console structure. Place pressure on the trim plate until it snaps into position then install the console trim plate bolts before tightening them to 2 n.m (18 lb in). After restoring the switch plate onto the floor console reattach the electrical connectors to the switches (1,3) when applicable and replace the coins back inside the console before using the console armrest door and installing the shift control knob. Put the shift lever into the park position and then turn the key to turn off the vehicle.
