    A: To remove the Rack and Pinion Boot and breather tube off of the vehicle, use the j22610 service boot clamp installer. Remove the outer tie rod, then remove the hex jam nut from the inner tie rod assembly , and take off the tie rod end clamp from Rack and Pinion Boot. Cut off the boot clamp from the Rack and Pinion Boot and throw it away using side cutters. Mark the position of the breather tube or the Rack and Pinion Boot on the gear assembly before removing it. Then, take away the Rack and Pinion Boot, and the breather tube. For assembly, fit a new boot clamp to an existing rack and pinio boot . Before putting on the Rack and Pinion Boot , to the inner tie rod assembly , grease the inner tie rod assembly and the Rack And Pinion gear assembly . Position the breather tube with the mark left when it was removed and the molded nipple of the Rack and Pinion Boot then attach the Rack and Pinion Boot on to the gear assembly to the point that it is fixed in its groove. Make sure that the Rack and Pinion Boot is not twisted or puckered; adjust by hand if necessary. Attach boot clamp onto Rack and Pinion Boot using the j 22610, crimp the boot clamp , and pinch the plier together on Rack and Pinion Boot to install the tie rod end clamp. Ultimately, attach the hex jam nut to the inner tie rod assembly.
