How to replace the rear trunk latch on 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier?

Start your replacement task by unplugging the latch cable assembly and taking off the cable door at the top of the lock release box. Disconnect the remote release cable from the lock release box and then remove the latch cable assembly bolts before taking out the latch assembly. Secure the latch assembly to its proper position and use the latch assembly bolts for fastening. Before putting in the latch cable assembly you should place lock cylinder rivets when needed in Pontiac cars.
