• Q: How to service the Mass Air Flow Sensor on 2000 Chevrolet Corvette?

  A: To service the mass air flow (MAF) sensor, first handle maf with a lot of care to avoid damaging honeycell airflow at air inlet end; do not touch the sensing elements or let any cleaning solvents or lubricants to come into contact with them, but only a small quantity of a non-silicone based lubricant on the air duct to help with installation. Start by disconnecting the maf sensor and iat sensor electrical connectors and remove the air intake duct clamps at maf sensor and Throttle Body, then remove air intake duct and the clamp at the air cleaner housing and take out the maf sensor. For installation, make sure the embossed arrows arrow on the maf sensor are toward the engine, and then install the maf sensor into the air intake duct at the air cleaner housing securing with a new clamp using (J 22610) service boot clamp installer. Then, connect the air intake duct to maf sensor and Throttle Body, and apply the clamps, and reattach the maf sensor electrical connector, as well as the iat sensor electrical connector.
