2000 Chevrolet Corvette Radiator Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace a radiator on 2000 Chevrolet Corvette?
A: The replacement process requires j 38185 spring hose clamp pliers (J 38185) as necessary tools. The first task is to remove the Radiator upper support followed by vehicle elevation with support. The coolant drainage process begins while the technician disconnects all electrical cables from the Fan Shroud before finally removing the Fan Shroud itself. The first step involves removing the Radiator inlet hoses together with the outlet hoses after which automatic transmission cooler lines must be detached if present on the Radiator. The procedure does not require detachment of air conditioning (A/C) lines from the condenser during the condenser replacement process. Start by taking the condenser out of the Radiator followed by its installation in a forward position while lowering the Radiator carefully from the vehicle. Installation starts by positioning the new Radiator while using the condenser to fit into the four retaining tabs on the Radiator and re-attaching the automatic transmission cooler lines when necessary. Fit the Radiator hoses before putting the Fan Shroud tabs into its mounting points. After lowering the vehicle disconnect the harness the fan motor electrical connectors before installing the Radiator upper support and completing cooling system filling.
