How to Service and Repair the Brake Line on 2000 Chevrolet Express 3500?

Start your brake hose/line service work by cleaning the end hose fittings of brake pipe to remove all dust and grease. Detach the frame mounted brake pipe from the brake hose as you take out the holder to connect the rear brake hose to its bracket. To access the rear brake hose you must first remove all retainer bolts from both its connections to brake pipes at the rear axle and from its bracket on the rear axle. First install the rear brake hose onto the vehicle and tighten its bolt to 20 nm (15 ft. Lbs.) over the bracket on the rear axle assembly. Thread the rear brake connections between axle and hose until they reach 20 nm torque setting. Avoid twisting the brake hose while making sure it stays clear of suspension parts. Lock the retainer over the frame mounted rear brake hose bracket and tighten it to 5 nm before attaching the frame mounted rear brake pipe to the hose with its existing nut secured to 20 nm. Release pressure from the brake hydraulic pipes as last step.
