How to service and repair the shift cable at the column shift control on 2000 Chevrolet Impala?

The automatic transaxle range selector cable retainer needs removal from the engine compartment stud before proceeding to detach the steering column trim panel. After detaching the automatic transaxle range selector cable it needs to be extracted through a dash hole while it is disconnected from both the shift control lever and manual shaft. Start the automatic transaxle range selector cable installation by directing it through the dash hole followed by correct cable routing and positioning then connect it to the manual shaft and shift control lever. Both the steering column trim panel and automatic transaxle range selector cable retainer should be attached to the engine compartment stud. The last step includes adjusting the transaxle side automatic transaxle range selector cable.
