  • Q: How to service and repair the Throttle Body on 2000 Chevrolet Impala?
    A: In order to service and repair Throttle Body, first turn-off the ignition and drain the coolant. Then remove the iat sensor electrical connector, breather tube from the air intake tube, iac valve electrical connector, tp sensor electrical connector, and the accelerator controls cable from the throttle lever and accelerator cable bracket. In case the cruise control cable is relevant, you need to detach it from the throttle lever and accelerator bracket or remove the accelerator control cable bracket as well. Remove the Throttle Body cooling bypass hoses and the heater pipe at the Throttle Body before detaching the nuts and bolts attaching the Throttle Body to the Intake Manifold to pull out the Throttle Body assembly. During installation, clean the surfaces of the gaskets on the Intake Manifold and Throttle Body assembly using no solvent because it can damage the surfaces afore-mentioned. Replace a new gasket, if necessary, and then affix the Throttle Body assembly using the retaining nuts and bolts and tighten the latter to 28 n.m (21 lb ft). Connect theappcomponent Throttle Body coolant bypass hoses, heater pipe nut, iac valve electric connector, tp sensor electric connector, and the accelerator controls cable bracket. In case possible, join the cruise control cable to the throttle lever then accelerator cable bracket, and join the accelerator controls cable. Mount the air intake pipe, reconnect the iat sensor electrical connector, and the breather tube connecting into the air intake pipe. Lastly fill up with coolant, while checking for throttle that moves freely without tight between full closed and wide open throttle checking the complete throttle opening and closing positions by operating the accelerator pedal and evaluating poor carpet fit under accelerator pedal.
