- Q: How to replace the A/C Hose for the condenser on 2000 Chevrolet Lumina?A: Starting the condenser tube replacement process requires first removing the duct assembly connected to the air cleaner and recovering the refrigerant. First disconnect the electrical connector from the a/c refrigerant pressure sensor followed by removal of the suction and liquid line bolt along with its bracket. You should proceed by taking out the liquid line fitting from both the condenser and the orifice while paying close attention to the tube removal process. Discard the entire liquid line assembly after its removal and dispose of the two o-rings. Apply mineral base 525 viscosity refrigerant oil to new o-ring seals before installing them on the liquid line while positioning it correctly into place. Screw in the liquid line nut at the orifice position while tightening the nut to 27 n.m (20 lb ft) before moving to the liquid line nut at the condenser which requires the same tightening value. The installation includes attaching the liquid line/suction line bracket with its bolt tightened to 6 n.m (54 lb ft) and reconnecting the electrical connector to the a/c refrigerant pressure sensor. Evacuate and charge the system followed by leak inspection before reinstallation of the air cleaner along with duct assembly.
