How to service and repair the rear suspension wheel bearing on 2000 Chevrolet Malibu?

Your repair work to service and replace the Wheel Bearing in the rear suspension must start by lifting and holding up the vehicle. Take the tire and wheel sets apart. Do not beat the drum when servicing to protect the bearing from damage. Next, remove the Brake Drum. To free the hub and bearing assembly from the axle position it partially before removing the top rear attaching bolt and nut to give space for the Brake Shoe to move out of the way. Detach the rear abs wheel speed sensor connector and take out the hub and bearing unit from the car. To put everything together normally connect the abs sensor wire and position the top bolt of the hub and bearing assembly before installing the entire component into the axle. Adjust the hub bolts until they reach 85 nm (62 ft. Lbs.) setting torque. Place the Brake Drum first and afterwards set the wheels and tires on. Finally, lower the vehicle.
