Hub & Bearing

Start by raising the vehicle and removing the wheel assembly and tire before you can begin working on the front Wheel Bearing and hub. Start by removing the wheel drive shaft nut followed by the brake rotor. Detach the hub and bearing assembly from the Steering Knuckle after removing the hub and bearing assembly bolts. The installation of the hub and bearing assembly to the Steering Knuckle requires you to tighten the hub and bearing assembly bolts to 95 nm (70 ft. Lbs.). The next steps should be to install the brake rotor followed by the wheel drive shaft nut then the tire and wheel assemblies. The final test involves checking the front wheel alignment.

After properly supporting the vehicle, you must first take off the tire and wheel assemblies during replacement of the rear Wheel Bearing and hub. Handle the Brake Drum with care to shield the bearing against damage before you take off the Brake Drum. First unfasten half of the hub and bearing assembly while looking after the top rear nut to access the Brake Shoe. Unplug the wire connection from the abs sensor at the rear and take out the hub and bearing unit from your vehicle. Before assembly place the top rear bolt in its position in the hub and bearing assembly before installing it into the axle unit. Install the hub bolts to 85 nm torque and put on the Brake Drum afterward you can add wheels plus tires before lowering the vehicle to its normal position.

To perform the Wheel Bearing and hub replacement work first support and lift the vehicle then take out the wheel and tire parts. When handling the Brake Drum do not strike it directly to protect the bearing and remove the component next. Begin by taking out part of the hub-and-bearing assembly from the axle then work toward removing the top rear bolt and nut since they remain caught by the Brake Shoe. Unplug the sensor wire from the abs wheel speed system and take out all parts of the hub and bearing assembly. After wiring the abs sensor tap, install the hub and bearing unit while setting the first bolt in place first before placing it into the axle. After applying the specified torque to hub bolts install the Brake Drum then put on tires and wheels before lowering the vehicle.

To replace the rear wheel bearing and hub you must first lift the vehicle properly while keeping it supported then carefully detach both tire and wheel components with special attention to avoid damaging the bearing through hammering on the Brake Drum. First separate the Brake Drum then pull out the axle assembly from its position. You must first get the hub and bearing assembly partly out before removing its top rear bolt and threaded nut due to Brake Shoe interference. Disconnect the rear abs sensor wires first to take out the complete hub and bearing assembly from the vehicle. Reattach the rear abs speed sensor wire connector before mounting the new hub and bearing assembly into the axle space. Locate the top rear bolt inside the assembly before locking it in position and tightening the hub bolts to 85 newton meters. Fix the Brake Drum then put on tires and wheels before allowing the car to rest on the ground.

Reinstall the brake rotor, the wheel drive shaft nut, and the tire and wheel assemblies.

Partially remove the assembly before taking out the top rear attaching bolt and nut to clear the brake shoe.

Remove the hub and bearing assembly bolts and detach the hub and bearing assembly from the steering knuckle.

Reconnect the rear ABS wheel speed sensor wire connector.
