    Q:
How to replace the shock absorber on Chevrolet Classic? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step for strut assembly replacement requires vehicle support under elevation and subsequent tire and wheel removal. First use a marker to trace the strut onto the knuckle before removing the strut mount to body nut in the trunk region. You should start by eliminating the fender well strut bolts before you remove the strut knuckle bolts and nuts from the strut . Pull the strut assembly out of the vehicle after completing all steps. Start by placing the strut back into the vehicle before you slightly tighten the knuckle bolts and nuts . First, plumb the scribe marks for alignment then secure the body bolts inside the fender well at 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.) before torquing the knuckle nut bolts to 120 nm (89 ft. Lbs.). Reinstall the tire and wheel assembly while lowering the vehicle and install the trunk-area strut to body nut before final tightening to 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.). Finish the process by verifying wheel alignment.
