  • Q: How to replace the Hood Cable on 2000 Chevrolet Metro?
    A: First, remove the Hood Latch in order to replace the Hood Cable. Next, carry and sample the vehicle before changing out the left front tire and wheel assembly. Then remove 6 screws (4, 6), 3 retainers, and wheelhouse panel-left front from the frame. Turn to take out 2 screws and the hood lock release handles from left part of the instrument panel. Pull the Hood Latch canopy out of the way so you can reach into the engine compartment hood release cable release from Hood Latch onto canopy handle employing a package of mechanic's wire to aid in order to remove and installing the hood. Take the release cable from vehicle while leaving the mechanic's wire intact so that it can be installed. In installation, connect the mechanic's wire to the new Hood Cable and run it through the vehicle. Never leave the mechanic's wire on the release cable after those have it covered. Attach the Hood Latch release handle onto the instrument panel with the help of 1 screw. Replace the left front wheelhouse panel with 6 screws(4, 6) and install 3 retainers and reinstall the left front tire and wheel assembly. Drop the vehicle and finally the Hood Latch.
