How to replace the Knock Sensor (KS) on 2000 Chevrolet Monte Carlo?

In order to change the Knock Sensor (KS), turn off ignition and lift the vehicle. Postsplash shield and drain off the cooling system. Next, remove the Knock Sensor heat shield mounting bolt at the freeze plug or block heater if available and disconnect the Knock Sensor wiring harness connector, removing the Knock Sensor from the block. For installation do not use thread sealant to the sensor thread because it has factory coated that is extremely vital for every detection of detonation. Mount the Knock Sensor into the block of the engine and tighten it to 19 n.m (14 lb ft). Reinstall the Knock Sensor heat shield mounting bolt, re-attached the wiring harness connector and install the splash shield accordingly. At last, bring down the vehicle and fill in the cooling system.
