How to service and repair the Brake Proportioning Valve on 2000 Chevrolet Prizm?

The first step to fix the Brake Proportioning/Combination Valve includes emptying brake fluid from the reservoir and cleaning all dirt from brake connections and leads. First take off all three brake pipes from the proportioning valve before removing the single bolt securing the device. Mount the proportioning valve onto the cowl and lock it down with the bolt until it reaches 89 inch lbs. (10 Nm). Firmly join the three brake pipes to the proportioning valve afterward start the brake system bleeding process.
