How to replace the rear side door check link on 2000 Chevrolet Prizm?

You must take off the rear side door trim as your first step when replacing the check. Reach the rear door check by pulling back the water deflector from its position. First, detach the check from its bolt facing the door jamb and disconnect the two bolts holding its position on the rear door. Afterward, remove the check through a hole in the inner door panel. Secure the check through the inner door panel access hole by using two bolts which should be tightened to 5.5 N.m (49 lb in). You should turn the rear door check to door jamb bolt until it achieves 5.5 N.m (49 lb in). Put the water deflector in its factory position before placing on the rear side door trim panel.
