How to replace the front side door handle on 2000 Chevrolet Prizm?

The replacement of the front side door outside handle starts with removing the front side door water deflector. You must first open the rod retainers represented by (3, 6) and then separate the lock rods marked as (2, 5) from the outside Door Handle and lock cylinder. Start by removing the two door bolts then the external handle of the door. You should take out the bolt and the Door Lock Cylinder from the outside Door Handle only if necessary. The Door Lock Cylinder should be attached first to the outside Door Handle and then secured with the bolt while tightening the bolt to achieve 5.5 n.m (49 lb in). Secure the outside Door Handle to the door by using two bolts that should be tightened to 5.5 n.m (49 lb in). The outside Door Handle should receive lock rods (2, 5) which need to be retained using (3, 6). Install the front side door water deflector as the last step.
