2000 Chevrolet Tracker Radiator Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair a radiator on 2000 Chevrolet Tracker?
A: A service or repair of the Radiator must start with disconnecting the negative Battery Cable to establish safety parameters. It is unsafe to remove the Radiator Cap when engine temperature and Radiator temperature remain hot because scalding steam and fluid will escape under pressure. After ensuring safety you should pull out the Radiator Cap then raise your vehicle and support it properly while removing the Drain Plug to empty the cooling system before re-sealing the Drain Plug. Transmission oil cooler lines should be removed from the bottom of the Radiator before capping their open ends to stop fluid leaks. The technician should first disconnect the lower Radiator Hose then unfasten the Radiator overflow hose and upper Radiator Hose after which they should remove the 4 Radiator shroud clips alongside 1 bolt from each Radiator side while avoiding damage to the fan area. Place the Fan Shroud against engine direction while extracting the Radiator from the vehicle. Place the Radiator into position then fasten it with both bolts and join the lower Radiator Hose along with the Radiator overflow hose before securing the Radiator shroud using the 4 clips. Install the transmission oil cooler lines to the bottom of the Radiator when working with automatic transmissions while also attaching the upper Radiator Hose. Connect the negative Battery Cable after filling the cooling system reservoir. The procedure concludes with an engine activation phase after confirming that all coolant leaks are absent while coolant reaches the proper tag mark along with automatic transmission fluid remains leak-free with its fluid level set properly.
