Chevrolet Tracker Radiator Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair a radiator on Chevrolet Tracker?
A: The Radiator service commencement requires disconnecting the negative Battery Cable followed by Radiator Cap removal. Properly elevate the car and remove all the lower shroud clips before draining the cooling system through the Drain Plug. Close the plug after draining. You need to disconnect Automatic Transmission Oil Cooler Line connections located at the Radiator bottom while applying caps to these open tubes to stop fluid leaks. You must remove the lower Radiator Hose followed by lowering the vehicle before taking out the Radiator overflow hose and upper Radiator Hose. The installation requires removal of two upper Radiator shroud clips together with one bolt from each Radiator side without damaging the fan part of the Radiator. The engine-side of the Fan Shroud should lean toward the engine block while the Radiator must be lifted vertically through the vehicle opening. Position the Radiator inside the space before securing it with one bolt each side and attaching the upper Radiator shroud clips as well as the upper hose and the overflow hose. The installation of the lower Radiator Hose and transmission oil cooler lines requires a maintained vehicle height for secure attachment at the bottom of the Radiator. Before lowering the vehicle reattach the negative Battery Cable then add fluid into the cooled system through the installed clips on the lower Radiator shroud. To complete the procedure start the engine while inspecting for coolant leaks and verifying proper cooling level and automatic transmission fluid conditions with appropriate fluid levels.
