Chevrolet Tracker Fan Clutch Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the fan clutch on Chevrolet Tracker?
A: The service and repair of Fan Clutch starts by disconnecting the negative cable from the battery. Take out the fan/clutch assembly from the vehicle until you reach the 4 Fan Clutch mounting bolts that attach the fan to the clutch. The fan requires inspection for cracks and broken blades which merit a new replacement in case of failure. A thorough exam of the Fan Clutch should include inspection for cracks as well as checks for binding and worn bearing which lead to necessary replacement. Screw the fan onto the clutch before using the 4 bolts to fasten it and applying 11 nm (97 inch lbs.) torque. Put back the fan/clutch assembly on the vehicle then secure the negative Battery Cable while checking that the Battery Cable bolt achieves a torque setting of 15 nm (11 ft. Lbs.).
