  A: The first step in servicing and repairing the Timing Cover is to drain the engine cooling system and engine oil. Unbend the crankshaft balancer, drive belt tensioner, Power Steering Pump with lines, and relocate the pump. Detach the thermostat bypass pipe and radiator outlet hose from the front cover deconnecting it to remove the coolant pump pulley. Remove the upper and lower crankshaft position sensor wiring harness brackets, the engine front cover bolts as well as the and in order to remove the engine front cover and its gasket.
