How to replace the parking brake cable on 2000 GMC C2500?

To change the parking brake cable, first release the parking brake, and then lift and support the vehicle. Separate the nut from the threaded end of the intermediate cable, disconnect the equalizer from the rear park brake and remove the intermediate cable from the end of the front cable prior to removing the intermediate cable. For installation, first install the intermediate cable and connect it to the front cable, then fit equalizer to the rear park brake cables. Attach the nut to the threaded end of the intermediate cable and lock it to 3.5 N.m (31 lb in). Lastly, remove the safety stands, lower the vehicle and adjust the park brake system.
